TUAPEKA CRICKET.
Tht Walker Cup matches were continued last Saturday. Miller’s Flat journeyed to Heriot and obtained a two-point win after a close game. Heriot won the toss, and sent the Flat in to bat on a drying wicket, -which proved very tricky, and was responsible for the small scoring. In its first innings the Flat made 53, Eckhoff (16), Rosanowski (nine, not out), and Stuart (nine) obtaining the best scores. Bowling for Heriot, Tilley (foui wickets for six), Graham (three for 17), and Richards (two for 12) were the successful bowlers. Heriot’s first innings closed for 46, Rush (20) and A. Ottroy (12) being the only batsmen to reach double figures. Eckhoff (five for 20), Stuart (four for 20), and F. Ferguson (one for none) shared the wickets. Miller’s Flat’s second innings realised 33, none of the batsmen making double figures. Rush (four for five), Tilley (three for seven), Trip (one for three), Graham (two for four) bowled well for Heriot. At the call of time (7.30) Heriot had lost throe wickets for eight runs in the second innings.
