TRIBITSCH LINCOLN
HIS LATEST ESCAPADE. POSES AS BUDDHIST PRIEST. (Frees Association—By Telegraph—Copyright) VANCOUVER, December 14. A Buddhist priest, H. Euh, was given a rousing farewell when he sailed from here to China in September. He has now been identified from clippings from a Peking newspaper as Tribitsch Lincoln, the. archspy. He lectured here on energy and matter, and startled his hearers by his knowledge of Buddhism. He said that he was an Anglican curate before his conversion to Buddhism. His disguise was unquestioned here. —A. and N.Z. Cable. Tribitsch Lincoln is a Hungarian, who was proved to have been a spy in German pay during the war. He became a preacher, and exploited several religions in turn. Then he managed to induce the people of Darlington to elect him to Parliament. His actions in the House showed no great love for England on his part; indeed, he stated later, “I hate England.” When he was proved to be a spy ho escaped to the United States, and since the war has wandered from one country to another.
