(Received August 29, at--9 p.m.) In the Federal Arbitration Court Mr Justice Beeby delivered judgment in the case in which the Engineering and Blacksmiths’ Unions asked for a variation of their award, with special reference jto daily hiring, piecework, and overtime. In a lengthy judgment, Mr Justice Beeby restored weekly hiring, with the proviso that any employer who is harassed by unfair claims for compensation, for sick pay, or by failure of the employees when leaving employment to give a week's notice, may apply for exemption from weekly hiring-' on terms to be fixed by the court.
