BEAM WIRELESS

TELEPHONIC EXPERIMENTS. IMPOSSIBLE AT PRESENT. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, August 28. The Evening News reports a Marconi -official as saying that beam telephonic experiments are at present impossible as the stations belong to the post office. He believed that Empire telephony would not necessitate moJe beam stations as certain ivave lengths, several of which were useable simultaneously, could be devoted to telephony. The wireless expert of the Evening News, commenting on the Marconi official statement, expressed the opinion that beam telephony may solve the broadcasting problem by the radiation of throe beams simultaneously from London to Australia, Canada, and South Africa; where they could be rebroadcasted or stored by a recording method and retransmitted at a suitable hour.—Sydney Sun Cable.
