GORE’S GAIETY GALA.

A WEEK'S FESTIVITY. (Pbb Untied Phess Association.) GORE, August 29. The curtain was rung up to-night on Gore’s gaiety gala, a week of festivity having been planned locally. Thousands of coloured lights throughout the central Brea of the town were switched on this evening by the Mayor, transforming Gore into a veritable fairyland. A lavish programme of fun and frolic for the week includes displays in which the schools will take possession of the main streets, children’s competitions, street dancing, monster processions in which many bands will participate, poultry and primary industries displays, the landing of Captain Cook, burlesque competitions, etc. Special trains are expected to carry thousands to Gore. The gala will end on Saturday night. Kinematograph pictures will be taken of tho whole proceedings.
