Provided climatic conditions are favourable the Anzac Day memorial service at Milton will bo helo at the Bruce Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial site, instead of at the Coronation Hall. The Borough Council is co-operating with the local clergy, and arrangements are being made for a parade of Territorials and Senior Cadets, headed by the Municipal Brass Band. BIBLE CLASS CAMP. The Presbyterian Young Men's Bible Class Easter camp was commenced at Mount Stuart (his morning and will bo continued until Tuesday. A large attendance of divinity students and members of the Bible Class Unions in Otago and Southland is anticipated. MUNICIPAL PICTURES. A statement presented at the Milton Borough Council’s meeting last night ui the muncipal picture enterprise for the vear ended on March 31, 1927, that the pictures returned a profit of £259 10s Id on the 12 months’ operations. CARD CLUB. The Milton Card Club, which ceased activities after the Magistrate's comments on card clubs at an inquest at Bnlclutha, has disposed of its equipment. The revenue therefrom and credit balance amounted to £3 10s, which has been disposed of bv a donation of £1 to the Toko Football Club, £1 5s to the Milton branch of the Royal Health Society, and £1 5s towards tho Milton Hospital gramophone fund. „ MOTOR SPEEDING. Tho Milton Borough Council at last night s meeting decided to support a suggestion from the Tuapoka County Council to take concerted action to stop motor 'speeding. It vras also decldee that the borough daymen be appointed as inspectors to catch offenders, in addition to the present inspector. Action is also to bo taken against motorists with overhanging loads on their vehicles. MUNICIPAL ROLLS. The Milton Borough Council’s suplerilentary roll for the forthcoming municipal elections was closed last night, with the addition of 107 names, due principally to the activity of rival candidates for municipal honours in careful perusual of the main roll. The total number of names enrolled is 1006, as compared with 1035 at tho previous election
