DRUIDISM.
The regular meeting of the Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room, Caversham, A.D. Bro. Hunt presiding. Invitations from the Bay, Enterprise, and Linden Lodges were received and accepted, the visits to be official in each case. It was decided to support the West Harbour Lodge in its suggestions regarding the Ross Stewart Shield Competition. One candidate was present and _ duly initiated into the mysteries of Druidism. while one was proposed for membership. Bro. Watson (Lily of the Valley) responded to the toast of the visitors. Bay Lodge held its fortnightly meeting in the Coronation Hall, St. Kilda, on 'Tuesday, Bro. G. Wilson presiding, over a big attendance of members. Members of Mistle Lodge paid an official visit, accompanied by their lady friends. One candidate was initiated into the order. D.P. Bro. Harvey attended officially and carried out the installation of three new officers. The item for the evening was a Dutch auction, (or which Bro. Harvey was appointed auctioneer. A considerable number of articles wore put up, several of the lots causing great amusement among the ladies. The proceeds of the sale realised a goodly sum, which wont towards augmenting the Benevolent Fund, A quoit tournament was hold between sides representing Mistletoe and Bay Lodges, including the ladies, Mistletoe not leaving the issue in doubt. The lodge will pay an official visit to Mistletoe on Tuesday, to ‘play for the Euchre Shield. The usual toasts were honoured and responded to by the visiting brethren.
