HOLIDAY FOR ANIMALS
REST FROM RIGOURS OF ZOO. PROVISION OF COUNTRY PARK. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, March 3. (Received March 3, at 11 p.m.) A holiday resort for animals from the London Zoo, is being provided by the Council of the Zoological Gardens, which nas purchased a beautiful undulating estate of 400 acres, 32 miles from London, in which will be enclosures for breeding animals, surplus stock, and animals from London requiring rest or exercise. There will also he sanctuaries for British birds and plants. The public will be able to view the animals and birds in their natural jungle surroundings. Meanwhile, the London” Zoo will be made attractive by the inclusion of species unsuitable for a country park, and the species to be retained will be healthier and not so much cramped. —A. and N.Z.
