A good deal of activity is now to bo scon on the Harbour Board's reclamation area at Lyttelton, which is being prepared fur commercial purposes (reports the Christchurch Press). The British Imperial Oil Company, which has leased an area of just over two acres near the dock, on which large oil tanks will bo constructed, is going, ahead with its work, and the Harbour Board is providing the company with read access. A railway siding has already been laid on the dock side, and others will bo laid on other parts of the area as they arc required. Up to the present no other leases have been sold by the board, but it is probable that before long the area will be dotted with stores and workshops. It is approximately 71 acres in extent. About six acrost of the south-west end of the reclaimed land has been given to the Lyttelton Borough Council for use as a recreation ground. The council is now getting the land ready and is surfacing it with spoil from the streets. On the sea front tho Harbour Board has planted a row ol pine trees, which will add greatly to the general appearance. It is proposed to make available 45 sites, each about a fifth of an acre in extent, for residential purposes on tho sea front. There will also lie another six residential sites facing tho recreation ground. A few drops of "Ni'ZOL” taken on lump sugar will soon relievo the most stubborn cough. A highly concentrated scientific jremedy; Is 6d buys CO doses. —Advt.
