PRESBYTERIAN MISSIONARY ENTERPRISE.
A conference of the Clutha Presbytery and of the Presbyterian Assembly representatives was held at Balclutlia on Monday last, the Rev. A. M'Ncur (Moderator of Presbytery) presiding, to arrange tor a missionary campaign to be conducted in the Clutha Presbytery early in May. The Rev. H. H. Barton, foreign mission secretary, stated that the campaign was primarily for the purpose of information and inspiration with a view to securing the fuller support of the missionary enterprise of the Church, the home mission, the Maori missions, and the Youth of the Church Committee co-operating with the Foreign Mission in this endeavour. It was agreed that, if possible, all the pulpits of the Presbytery should be occupied by missionary speakers on May 8 to inaugurate the campaign, and that a whole-day conference with Presbytery, Presbyterian Assembly, office-bearers, congregations and youth workers should be held at Milton on May 12. Other meetings being held in various parts of the Presbytery during the same week, and a public meeting at Milton on the evening of May 12. All the arrangements were entered into very heartily by a mu gathering of representatives.
