ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROWNED IN HARBOUR. (I'er United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 3. A drowning accident occurred in Mann-l.-jiu Harbour this morning. \ ictor Hihbert Thatcher, 20, single, losing Ins life in shallow water before the eyes of a young lady on the beach. The deceased, who was a strong swimmer, set out to reach a rowing boat, but suddenly sank when 40 yards from the shore. His body was recovered. Deceased recently complained of heart trouble. SKELETON OF MAN FOUND. I Pun United Press Association.) HAMIiTTON, March 3. The skeleton of a man was found in some scrub beside the railway lino two miles south of Hamilton. Ihn man had probably boon dead for two years. A lire had passed through the scrub, and only the remnants of the clothing wore Iclt. The remains have not been identified. A GIRL INJURED. Anne Mitchell aged 17 years, who lives at Otokia, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital yesterday suffering from head iniuries. She was riding a bicycle near the manse at Otokia, and collided with a cyclist proceeding in the opposite direction.
