(Peb United Press Associatic...) GISBORNE, January 21. For some time the need of a Catholic school for the teaching of boy pupils after passing the Fourth Standard has been felt in Gisborne. That requirement will be filled shortly, when a Marist Brothers school for pupils for standards five and six and up to the junior high school course will bo opened. When it was decided to erect a new school for St. Mary’s (which is now well under way) an application was made by the Catholic Church to the Marist Brothers to establish a school. This request has now been complied with. The new school is to bo conducted in the old St. Mary’s School, and two Marist Brothers will take up their residence here shortly. WELLINGTON. January 24. The Department of Agriculture has drafted regulations for the administration of the Veterinary Surgeons Act passed last session, which provides for the registration of veterinary surgeons. After the regulations have been gazetted a veterinary surgecos’ board will be constituted.
