RAILWAY OPENED.

OKAHUKURA-OHURA SECTION. HEAVY CONSTRUCTION WORK. (Per United Press Association.) STRATFORD, December 18. At Ohura the Minister of Public Works officially opened the Okahukura-Ohura section of the Main Trunk Stratford line to-day in glorious weather in the presence of a large gathering. The train which ran from Okahukura to Ohura brought a large number of visitors. Mr W. S. Currie, chairman of the Ohura County Council, and Mr W. K. Williams, president of the Progressive League, welcomed the Minister, who addressed the people briefly. Miss Lorna Williams cut the ribbon. The completion of this section of the line is of vast importance to the settlers of this district. The work has been heavy, necessitating four tunnels, one of which is almost a mile long. In addition there are 14 bridges. There are still 23J miles of construction necessary to complete the line to Stratford.
