A CHRISTCHURCH GANG. A THRASHING ORDERED. (Special to Daili Times.i CHRISTCHURCH, December 18. “ We shall have to break up this mob,” said Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Children’s Court to-day, when ordering that a youth of 16 he thrashed and placed under the caiie of the child welfare officer for 12 months. The father of another youth, aged 13, undertook to give his son a thrashing. Both youths were members of the gang of larrikins at St. Martin’s, whose ringleader was fined £lO cm Wednesday for using obscene language. The police stated that the gang was responsible for the serious assault and injury of an orchardist who caught them raiding his property.
