HOSPITAL BOARDS.

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. SUGGESTIONS TO CONFERENCE. (Peb United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, December 18. The Hospital Boards Association’s Executive met this week. A special committee of purchasing officers reported on the scheme of group buying. The report was referred to the various boards pending the conference in March. Further information is to be sought from the boards with a view to representing to the Government the need for legislation in the matter of obtaining the payment of fees from Maoris. A recommendation is being made to the conference with the object of securing uniformity in regard to friendly societies. In intimating thafc the Government could not accept the recommendation to grant an increased subsidy to the South Island boards maintaining tuberculosis sanatoria, the Hon. J. A. Young suggested that the North Island boards should take over the institutions there, placing all on a similar footing. The matter will come before the conference.
