The Daily Telegraph’s Rome correspondent says: “Signor Mussolini has appointed now municipal heads in 46 of the chief towns to replace the mayors. This is the first instalment of 5000 to be appointed to rule the towns throughout Italy. All the appointments were made in Rome by Fascist Governors, who have the power of making public appointments greater than that of any government in the world. ' Descendants of old families with noble titles are conspicuous in most of the appointments just made.” —A. and N.Z. Cable.
