DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION.
MR CAUGHLEY’S RETIREMENT. APPLICATIONS BEING CALLED. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, December 9. Applications are being called by the Public Service Commissioner for the position of Director of Education, which is about to be rendered vacant by the retirement at the end ’of this month of Mr J. Caughley. The salary stated is £1250, the same as is being paid at present. The applicants are required to be between the ages of 35 and 45 years, and to have a comprehensive knowledge of educational activities from the primary school upwards, as well as organising and administrative ability. From the fact that the applications close on December 22, it would appear that the field is being confined to New Zealand.
