The fire originated in the kitchens at midnight, and destroyed the centre of the building, including the throne and reception rooms. The side wing and the furniture were saied.—A. and N.Z. Cable. PRINCE CAROL’S INTENTIONS. FASCIST REGIME FAVOURED. LONDON, December 8. The Vienna correspondent of the Daily News says that it is believed that Prince Carol is ready to return to Rumania, aiming to govern by Fascist methods. This is interpreted to mean with the assistance of the army, which would not be popular with the public.—Sydney Sun Cable. KING’S SECOND OPERATION. BUCHAREST, December 8. (Received Dec. 9, at 9 p.m.) It is reported from Bucharest that King Ferdinand will abdicate in a few days.— A. and N.Z. Cable.
