“MORAL DECRADATION.”

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Referring to the article under the abova heading in your issue of the 19th inst, can anyone tell mo how long the men of Now Zealand are going to put up with the slandering of their women by imported pro fessional talkers? The dress of the average mpdernly attired girl or woman, is the neatest, prettiest, healthiest, and most hygenic that has been known. This may not be the opinion of all New Zealand, but it is certainly the opinion of a large number who are entitled to hold their opinions without being abused for it by people who have not been five minutes in the country 1 can leave it to the picture people to defend their productions, but must point out the absurdity of the statement that every picture carries the suggestion of immorality The modern girls go on their way serenely disregarding what may be said in disparage ment of them, but are the men going to stand these repeated attacks on the honour of their women? The croakers make most noiso, but it is well to let them know that there is an opposition. In my opinion the people of New Zealand represent the highest standard of kindliness, purity, and cleanliness ever attained on this globe, and the chief thing against them is that they suffer fools too gladly.—l am, etc., Tek Voice. Kaikorai. November 19.
