A very pleasing incident took place at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on Sunday night last just before thd'.evening service commenced (states the Auckland Star) Mr C. H. Poole was already in the pulpit ready to give out the first hymn when four Scout boys were noticed walkine up the aisle carrying their flag. The lads were evidently not expected, but the preacher - oon took in the situation. Going to the altar mils, he said that he was glad that they had a “squadron” of Scouts to worship with them that ezoning, and. taking the flag into the pulpit he delivered a brief but verv impressive address on the value of the flag. The boys wore provided with the front seats of the church. After the service was over Mr Poole momentarilv forgot about the flag till he saw four of his youthful congregation standing at *tten tion to have it handed back to. them. The congregation at once rose to their feet, and (.1,,, f~,,r =rnnl| =cn”t- nt once marched iut of the church with their big flag. ‘God Mi.'** 'on, nit hoys,” was Mr Poole’s final word to them. Slices f bread and butter have been found in the book* handed across library counters, said a speaker at the library conference at Leeds.
