FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE

AN UNFORTUNATE OUTBREAK. VALUABLE HERD AFFECTED. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, September 26. For the first time in many years an out break of foot-and-mouth disease has occurred at Southgate, London, where Dr Corner’s valuable pedigree herd of 59 head, which it has taken 25 years to build up, has been destroyed. Dr Corner says that he was upon the point of important discoveries, which he believed would solve the vital question of breeding for milk. He supplied locally a certain quantity of milk weekly. The milk was 75 per cent, above the required standard. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
