CONCERT IN JUBILEE HALL.

A concert given in Jubilee Hail on Saturday night in aid of the Moray Place Congregational Church Choir xuinds was very well attended, ladies terming a large part of the audience. j... 0 conceit was in a measure organised by the Orpheus Choir, which took a leading part in the perform ance, and rendered two of tho competition test pieces more than creditably, these being Gounod’s “By Babylon’s Wave” and Dudley Buck’s “Hymn to Music.” The programme, which consisted chiefly of music, was opened by a semi-choir item, “The Sea Hath Its Pearls,” which was very well given, some beautiful soft effects being obtained. Taking the remainder of the items in their order, Miss P. Clare <ang Herbert Oliver’s “Yonder,” Misse= JC Shepard and M. Stokes Ronald’s “O Lovely Night.” Mr Allan Yo'.:.<g gave a humorous Jewish recitation, Mr J. D. M’Kechnie gave a really fine rendering of Nelson’s “The Windmill,” Miss M Feitchley was amongst the most successful vocalists in her singing of lletelby’s “In a Monastery Garden.’ Miss F. Williamson’s singing of W. Sanderson’s “Friend o’ Mine” and the duet “Garden of Your Heart” (Dorel) by Messrs L. Collins and E. Paris brought tho first part of tho evening to a conclusion. Later Mrs S. Wilson and Mr J. D. M'Kcchnie sang “In Love’s Domain,’’ Miss M. Campbell “Prelude,” Mr Allan Young tave another recitation, Miss M. Stokes sang_ “My Dear Soul,” Mr W. Haig “Mountain Lovers,” Miss E, Shepard “Singing in the Rain,” Mr P. Anderson “The Last Cal), and Misses M. Campbell and P. Clare “Calm, Still Night.” The choir was conducted by Mr W. A. Gatheridge, who also played a few of the accompaniments, the remainder being provided by Mrs R. Emmerson.
