LAWN TENNIS.
TAIERI CLUB. The annual meeting of the. Taieri Lawn Tennis Club was held in the Coronation Hall, Mosgiel, on Wednesday night. In the absence of Mr M'Laohlan, Mr T. de la Ferrells was voted to the chair. The balance sheet for the past year showed a credit balance of £23 13s Sd. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted:—Patron, Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P.; president, Mr C. C. M’Lachlan, vicepresidents —Messrs J. P. Walls, J. Gordon, C. fc’indlay, E. J. Taylor, A. Meiklejobn, and W. Allan, secretary, Mr H. Butcher, treasurer, Mr A. Mitchell; committee —Mrs de ia Perrelle, Misses M’Leod Hanlm, Turnbull, and Messrs Wichart, Souter, and de la Perrelle; Grounds Committee —Messrs K J Swallow. L. Swallow, and J. R. Kennedy, Social Committee —General Committee and Misses O'Neil and Wheatley, and Messrs O’Neill and E. J. Swallow; Catsring Com rnittee—Misses Hanlin, Turnbull, and J. Wylie; Ladder Committee, Messrs Perrelle and A. Mitchell; Match Committee —Mrs Perrelle and Messrs Perrelle and Mitchell, delegate to association, Mr E. J. Swallow, auditor, Mr 0. Paterson. Twelve new members were elected, and it was resolved to enter a B and C Grade team in the competition. The opening day was fixed for October 2, and it was decided to bold a dance that night.
