MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Society for the Health of Women and Children was held in the Plunket office yesterday, when there were present: Mesdumos Johnstone (in the chair). Theotnin, Wilson, Gallawny, J. C. M’George, Jos. iVFGeorgc, O'Neill, Williams, Marshall Macdonald, Solomon, Mandeno v the Misses Reid, Joachim, and Gow, Sister Nora and the secretary. The treasurer, in presenting the'mouthy statement of the society accounts to date, reported the receipt ot a number of subscriptions and donations. The matron oi the Karitane-Havm Hospital reported as follows for month ended Juno 30:—No. of patients in on May 31: Mothers two, babies 18; admitted for treatment, mothers 10, babies 15; discharged, mothers 9, babies 16; in on Juno 30, mothers three, babies 17. Sources of admission: Six mothers and babies from Dunedin, one mother and baby from Green Island, one mother and baby from Naseby, two mothers only from Dunedin. Babies; One baby from Merton, one baby from Bluff, four babies from Dunedin. Two premature babies were admitted during the month One is getting on very satisfactorily, and the other is making slow progress. '[’here were 170 visitors during the month. . . . There are 19 Plunket nurses in training. Nurses Anson and M'Call commenced thencourse of training. There are 11 Karitane nurses in training. Nurse Beatson finished her course of training and Nurse Bingham commenced. Remits for the General Conference to be held in Wellington from July 27 to 30 were discussed.
