RELIGIOUS “SUGGESTION.”
TO THE Etirroa Sm, —I have a tenacious grasp of tho tenet that Christ radiated love, abhorred ostentation and thrust behind Him every selfish thought. Then why the uuendearing influence induced in llis name, on His morn of rest, by the aggressive egoism of a clanging bell? Children (and grown-ups, too) are drawn to tho unassuming tones of the street dulcimer, where they are repelled by the overt excrescences of a towncrier. And might not a cessation of those Sunday vibrations awaken, first curiosity, and then sympathy for a House displaying only tho vital issues it represents?—l am, etc., With tub Times. July 8.
