A SUMNER TRAGEDY.
AN INFANT DROWNED. STRANGE BEHAVIOUR OF MOTHER. (Peb United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May. 30. The four-weeks-old son of a resident of Sumner named Robinscn was found dead by his 14-year-old brother this morning, and as the mother was not to be found m the house the father was informed, and he went to the beach in search of his wife. Ihe tide was low, and he saw her in the water, and when he brought her out she was conscious. When she had been removed to her home the police were informed, and detectives from the city brought the body of the baby and also the woman to r.instchurch. Details are meagre. It is stated that the woman had been quiet and morose lately, and her manner was strange on Saturday night. Mr Robinson, her husband, is mnnacer of the hardware department of the D.I.C.
