A special meeting of the Pride of Mornington Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held in St. Mary’s Hall on Wednesday to do honour to Bro. I. Oliver, G.P. of Otago and Southland, and a member of this lodge, iho lodge was opened by Ad). Bro. Bartlett, and was then adjourned. The G.P. and his officers were introduced by the M.C. and cordially welcomed by the A.D. As there was a lengthy toast list, the Chairman (Bro. T Bartlett) opened the proceedings by proposing the toast of “The King’ -and “The Druids.” P.G.P. Bro. J. Dove, of Otago Lodge, then proposed the toast of Ihe Guest of Honour,” G-P. Bro. I. Oliver. In the course of his remarks ho drew a brief outline of all the good work put into the order by Bro. Oliver. A tribute to tbo esteem in which the G.P. is held by the brethren was shown by a most gorgeous lily being given to the M. of C. s to be handed to the G.P. G.T. Bro. Birt was then called upon, as secretary of the lodge, to present to the G.P. a small token from his own lodge. This took the form of a gold medal embossed on one side with the letters U.A-O.D. and on the reverse side: “Presented to Bro. I. Oliver, first G.P. of Lodge 14.” In making the presentation, Bro. Birt remarked that the G.P. had made himself one of the best-liked men in the order. G.P. Bro. Oliver replied to P.G.PBro. Dove’s toast and the lodge s presentation, and thanked all the brethren in the order for their whole-hearted support and confidence. The half-yearly meeting of the Enterprise Lodge was presided over by A.D. Bro. Cursey, and was well attended. Sick pay and the usual quarterly accounts were passed for payment. The D.P. of No. 2 District -(Bro. Harvey) paid an official visit, and was received with Druidic honours. The appeal on behalf of a distressed brother was reported on as being worthy of assistance. The half-yearly meeting of the Royal Oak Lodge was held in the lodge room, A-D. Bro. Dickinson presiding. D.P. Bro. Harvey was present officially, and was received with the usual honours. Challenges for the euchre shield were received from the Good Intent and Pride of Mornington lodges, and after consideration it was decided to accept the challenge from Good Intent Lodge, the contest to take place at the next meeting. One candidate was presented and duly initiated. Bro. Routledge reported on the meeting of the United Friendly Societies’ Dispensary Board, while V.A. Bro. Raekley and Routledge; M.C., Bro. T. H. Hudson ; Minute Secretary, Bro. R. Hudson. The half-yearly meeting of the All Nations Lodge w-as held in Port Chalmers on Tusdny, being presided over by A.D. Pro. M'Kenzle. The Grand Lodge wrote giving consent to a public installation next lodge night. Bros. Reeves, M'Alpine, and Wade were appointed delegates to the Friendly Societies’ Council. The election of officers resulted as follows: —A.D., Bro. A. Groves; V.A., Bro. A. M'Gregor; secretary, Bro. C. Jacobson (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. K. M'Alpine (re-elected); LG., Bro. H. Voisev; 0.G., Bro. J. M. Harland; A.D.B.s’, P. Smith and J. Colthorpe; V.A.B.s’., Bros. A. Caldwell and G. Honeybono; pianist, Bro. S. M'Alpine; M.C., Bro. J. Craig; Min. Sec., Bro. H. O. Reeves; auditors, Bros. C. Wade and C. Timlin. D.P. Bro. M'Pnrlanc paid an official visit, and was cordially welcomed. The half-yearly meeting of Linden Lodge was held on Tuesday, A.D. Bro. Reid presiding over a very good attendance of officers and members. After the usual business had been transacted a member was initiated. An official visit was received from D.P. Bro. M'Farlane, and he was heartily welcomed. A report was given by P.G.P. Bro. Sunderland. Next lodge night it was decided to hold a social to take the form of a dance, and all brothers were asked to bring a partner. The .election of officers resulted as follows:—A.D., Bro. Owens and Beveridge; 1.P.A., Bro. Reid; M.C., Bro. M'Farlane (re-elected); auditors;’Bros. M'Farlane and W. Duff. Bay Lodge held its half-yearly meeting on Tuesday night at the Coronation Town Hall, when A.D. Bro. H. Napier was greeted with a splendid attendance of members and visitors. The Royal Arch Chapter paid an official visit, as also did the Pride of Mornington and several members of Roval Oak and Enterprise Lodges. Bro. 'Harvey, the D.P. of No. 2 District, was then announced, and he received a true Druidic welcome from the brothers. The, novel Arch Chapter took over the chairs of the lodge, and conducted the business for the rest of the meeting. Royal Arch Druid Bro. A. Reid extended on behalf of Bay Lodge a hearty welcome to the D.P. and to the various other visitors. Af ”‘ r lengthy correspondence was dealt with 1* DP Bro. G. Wilson gave a lengthy report on the Friendly Societies' Dispensary Council, in which he stated that PG P Bro. Sunderland has been elected president. The lodge passed a motion of sympathy with Dr do. Lautour on his being laid aside through illness, and wished him a speedy recovery. The Royal Arch Chapter then conducted an Arch Druids Competition, for which five brothers entered, the winner being Past Arch Bro. W. Workman. The election of officers resulted as followsA.D., Bro.
