DAIRY PRODUCE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Ltd.) ha« received the following cablegram from its London house under date April 26: New Zealand butter: Choicest, 168 s to 170 s. Market quiet. Danish 170 s, Australian 16Ss, Russian 14? s. Cheese, 925., Market slow. /CLEARING SALE. Donald Reid and Co. report having conducted a very successful clearing sale on Tuesday last for Mr W. Richardson, Owaka Valley. Despite the wet weather and seas of mud, a large attendance of members was present from Kaitangata, Stirling, Balclutha, Chaslands, Tahakopa, and the surrounding districts. Bidding was brisk from start to finish, and a total clearance was affected in good time. The following prices were secured :—Ewe lambs, 28s, 24s 9d ; wether lambs, 21s 3d, two, four, six, and eighttooth ewes, 30s Id, 29s 6d ; s.m. ewes, 23s 9d; wethers, 275; Dairy cows. £l2, £11; spring calvers, £8 15s, £8 10s, £8 ss, £7 10s, £7 ss, £7 ss, £7, etc. ; sprlngcart mare, £27. do, £l7 ; oat stacks, to £7 15s; implements and sundries, at full market rates. At the final wool rale of the season to-day a catalogue of 1700 bales was offered, comprising mostly oddments, with a few backstation clips. A bright, keen sale resulted, prices being fully up to expectations. Scoured merino of good quality- made to 375, and halfbred to 30Jd. The best price for unscaured was 18}d.
