THE EXHIBITION BONUS.
TO THE JEDITOSgTR,—At the close of the Exhibition the employees *ll received * bonus of one week's wsges, excepting some 15 or 17 who were left in the cold, the reason for which is not understood, es most of these men have been in the employ from start to finish, and ha's* always E' Ten ' entire satisfaction, serving »t various times as patrols, gate-keepers, nightwatchmen, etc. As no overtime rates have ever been paid, why were these employees not alsc given a share of the bonus?—l s®, etc., Exct-curo. [The bonus was paid on'-- to those men who had been working all tlsr.-ugb the Exhibition on a weekly wage, and who were not under an award. It was partly m recognition of a great deal of volunteer worK. Mr Spence (the secretary) states that those under an award worked award hours, and. received award pay, and all overtime. Occasionally these men were given casual wora at the gates, and were paid extra for it. Ed. O.D.T.]
