PENDING DEPARTURE FROM CANADA. PRESENTATION FROM FORMER OFFICERS. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) OTTAWA, April 9. (Received April 11, at 5.5 p.m.) Two hundred officers of the Canadian forces who served under General Byng in the Great War gave tangible expressions of their affection for their former leader, the Governor-General of Canada and commander of the Canadians overseas in 191617, and for Lady Byng at a dinner at Government House to-night by the presentation of a 7-passenger 75 horse-power Canadian-made limousine car to Lord Byng and an oil portrait of his Excellency to Lady Byng. The presentation was made on behalf of the officers by Sir Arthur Currie. President of M'.Gill University at Montreal, who succeeded General Byng as commander of the corps. The dinner was one of the most memorable functions ever held at Government House. It was the ninth annievrsary of the capture of Vimy ridge by the Canadians. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
