HARRIERS.

The Leith Harriers, who attended well for their opening day, held a pack run from, the Holy Innocents’ Schoolroom, through some grand bush tracks over Pine Hill, from which the Main North road was reached. The pack then ran|throngh the Botanical Gardens to the Woodhaugh Gardens, whence a fast run was made for home. , The combined Pacific and Caversham Harrier Clubs held the opening run of the season from the residence of Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P. Both clubs had a large muster, a total of 63 participating. W. H. Hobbs (Pacific) and A. Frye (Caversham) were entrusted with the paper. The clubs divided into two pa.ks, the slow pack being under the whistle of Captain A. C. Grey (Pacific), with F. Mouat as deputy-captain, and the fast pack was controlled by Captain J. Mill (Caversham), with C. Hebbard as his deputy. The irail led out from the rear of Mr Sidey’s residence, and struck over towards the coast, skirted the golf links, and then across country to the back of Green Island. Hera it circlcc. round, and after climbing the hills at the back of Concord, led across on to the Main South road at Lookout Point. After a smart run down the Main road into Caversham the pack turned up Sidney street, then across the quarry on to Elgin road-, which was followed to Lookout Point, and finally down the Main road to Sidey street, and round to Corstorphine. The Cargill Road Methodist Harriers held their opening run from the schoolroom, Wesley street, on Saturday, C 5 members being present. After a stiff run which led over the Peninsula, the members of the club were entertained by. the young women’s Bible class. The Civil Service Harriers held their opening run from the St. Clair baths, 21 members turning out. The trail led past Cargill's Castle, skirting the golf links, and then across country to Burnside, whence the course followed the road over Lookout Point, through Caversham, finishing with a fast run home along Forbury road. Olsen was first home, closely followed by Bastings and Stephens. The St. Hilda Harriers held their opening run on Saturday afternoon, and an excellent run took them from Wesley street over the Peninsula by the high road, and back home by the low road. 1 At the conclusion of the run the club members were entertained by the president (Mr E.
