BIDDING NOT KEEN. SUPER WOOLS DEARER. MEDIUMS AND LOW HALE-BREDS LOWER. The second wool sale of the Dunedin series was commenced in Burns’s Hall last night when a commencement was made with the 22,028 bales to be offered. The following is a list of the brokers offering, and the order in which the catalogues will he sold;— Dalgety and Co 4638 Stronach Morris and Co 1676 N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co 1603 Donald Redd and Co. ■_ 5014 Otawo Fanners’ Co-Operative Association 1708 National Mortgage and Agency Co. 3(28 Wright, Stephenson and Co. ... 5671 Total 22,028 Thr'e catalogues were submitted last night. Bidding, except occasionally, was not so keen as it was at the December sale. So far, super halfbreds, and threequarter breds, and crossbreds suitable for America were from Jld to Id dearer than last sale. Medium and low halfhrods were from Id to l£d per lb lower; medium and low tli roe-quart or breds and crossbreds were from par to Id per pound lower. Merinos were most erratic. Super sorts were neglected, and only an occasional lot brought a satisfactory price. Merinos (suitable "for scouring were much more keenly sought after and were making within a penny per pound of last sale prices, but supers generally (were 2d to 4d lower. There was keen competition for pieces, bellies and locks which can he quoted appreciably dearer. The sale will be continued to-day when the remaining catalogues will be submitted.
