CORNWELL CUP CONTEST.
AUCKLAND BOAT AND CREW. Trio Takapnna Boating Club held a series of trial races on December 10 to cbooso a crew to represent Auckland in the contest for tho Cornwell Cup at Dunedin next February. Throe races were hold over a harbour course, (he following boats competing;—-'Winsome, P.poi-t, Lai Dai, Myrth, Frolic. Kitty, Comet. Of these the following qualified for the final three races; —Winsome, Comet, and Lai Lai. The finish saw Doug. Mackay and P. Masefield win, and it was derided by the committee to send these hoys to Dunedin to defend the cup. phniild circumstances permit, MMasters will also be sent as emergency.
