BODY OF DROWNED MAN POUND. CPeb United Press Association.) . BLENHEIM, October 21. The body of William, George Moody, who was drowned in the Pelorus River on August 21, when attempting to cross the river to his work, was found' in Pelorns Sound last evening by a young- lad. Apparently the body had been buried in the silt, and was dislodged by the fresh in the river and swept into the sound. KILLED AT LEVEL CROSSING. (Peb United Press Association.! MASTERTON. ’ Octobfer 21. Robert Currv. aged 25 years, single, wa» accidentally ’ killed at tbe Cornwall street level crossing this morning. He was struck by a train arriving from Wellington, and never regained consciousness. FATAL RIFLE ACCIDENT. (Per United Press Association,) NELSON, October 21. A tragic occurrence took place during the luncheon hour in Emano street to-day, when Robert E, Thomason, a married man, aged 24 years, was killed through a loaded miniature rifle exploding. _ While the deceased was sitting down making a cigarette, with the rifle between his; knees, by some means it wont off, the bullet entering his head under the chin, and inflicting fatal injuries. The deceased was employed as a lorry driver by Kirkpatrick and Co.
