Definite opinions on the reconstruction methods of the Soviet are expressed by a party of five Labour members of the House of Commons after a tour of Russia. They declare: “The Soviet is firmly established with majority support, while throughout the nation there is evidence that it is achieving economic regeneration. It expects next year to equal pre-war production. In our judgment it will be an economic disaster to Britain if she continues the policy which tends to exclude British goods from this great present and potential market. Out of £2,000,000 worth of agricultural machinery imported in eight months only £IO,OOO worth was from Britain. Responsible members of the Soviet are willing and anxious for negotiations with Britain to clear up outstanding questions, to conclude unreasonable treaty, and to prepare the path of political goodwill between the two countries.”—A. and N.Z, Cable.
