GIRL SWIMMER GIVES UP. LONDON, August 29. Mercedes Glcitzer, the 24-year-old London typist, who essayed a Channel swim last week-end, abandoned her second attempt, which was made from Folkestone. When she had traversed 10 miles she was seized with severe cramp.
