SEIZURE OF DIAMONDS
A SENSATIONAL COUP. CHARGE OF SMUGGLING FOLLOWS. Pram Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, August 5. The Customs officers made a sensational coup, seizing £IO,OOO worth of diamond jewellery', which, it was alleg-ed, had been smuggled, and arresting a man named Ernest Bossbard, who is described as a jewel merchant. (Received August 5, at 10 p.m.) Bossbard was remanded till August 17 on a charge of smuggling £IO,OOO worth of diamond jewellery into the Commonwealth. To police stated that the actual value of tho jewellery -was £15,000.
