A RECORD BONFIRE
BURNING OF AMERICAN SHIPS. END OF ILL-STARRED ENTERPRISE. Prsss Association—By Telegraph—Copyright NEW YORK, August 3. The greatest bonfire in the world’s history will be observed during the weekend, when 200 of the Shipping Board’s vessels, costing on an average 1,000,000 dollars each, will be towed to sea and set on fire. Two hundred other wartime ships .are being- sold for less than 2,000,000 dollars, probably to Mr Henry Ford.—Sydney Sun Cable.
