FAMILY'S NARROW ESCAPE
STRYCHNINE PLACED IN TEA. EMPLOYEE DUS FROM POISONING. Pre.s Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, August 4. (Received August 4, at 11.5 p.m.) An unsuccessful attempt was made to poison a family named Gray, consisting of the father and mother and an adult son and daughter, who live near Goulburn. The family were about to commence the evening meal when they heard groans in the yard and found an employee named Richard Luke suffering from strychnine Eoisoning from which he died. The family iter commenced the meal but noticed the tea bitter and did not drink it. An examination revealed a quantity of strychnine in the kettle and hot water urn.
