TWO WOKEN ATTACKED
ASSAILANT COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, August 4. (Received August 4, at 11.5 p.m.) Alfred Brenchley was committed for trial on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm upon Mrs and Miss Cole. The evidence showed that Bren chief’s and Mrs Cole’s sons quarrelled and Inter Brenchley visited the Cole’s homo, and Mrs Cole alleged, attacked her and her daughter. Following a quarrel between David William Cole and another youth at Woollabra, the father of the latter complained to the police that hia sou had been attacked by young Cole. The p>lfce - advised him to proceed by summons, and 1 ho left the police station. In the early hours of Sunday morning- Mrs Cole, aged 54, and her daughter Sadie, aged 21, heard a knocking at the door. They went downstairs and opened it, when ihe> were savagely attacked by a man an iron bar who battered their heads. They were sent to hospital, each with a compound fracture of the skull. The police latex arrested the fattier.
