(Received July 13, at 5.5 p.m.) One hundred and fifty persons were injured, including two policemen, and 50 were arrested as the result of fierce riots in the Shettleston district of Glasgow. Sinn Feiners, shouting- “Tear down their banners,” attacked 40,000 Orangemen in procession in celebration of the Boyne anniversary. The Orangemen replied with a bombardment of beer bottles and brickbats. Hundreds of partisans belaboured each other with be-ribboned shillelaghs, and the members of the bands used their instruments, while women fought savagely. A largo force of mounted and foot police dispersed the combatants and conducted the injured to hospital. After that the procession carried on an exchange of missiles all along the route. The Orangemen subsequently vfsited the Sinn Fein colony and bombarded the windows of the houses on which the Sinn p e in flag was flying. Women Screamed vituperations while streets were filled with free fights. .... , Some of the mob boarded trams and hurled stones from the top decks, hundreds of windows being broken. The police repeatedly charged with batons. The fight continued all night at Gurngad, where a man was wounded by a revolver shot.—Sydney Sun Cable.
