In moving tlio adoption of tho annual report and balance shoot, tho President referred to tho need of increased membership to assist the club’s finances, and also so that tho selectors would bo in a bettor position to arrange teams during the holiday periods. Mr F. M. Short seconded tho motion, which was carried. Tho Chairman moved, and Mr H. S. Reid seconded—-“ That the committee be empowered to register tho club under tho Unclassified Societies Aot as the Kaituna Bowling Club Incorporated.”—The motion was carried. Mr James Allan moved, in accordance with notice of motion, that tho annual subscription bo increased to £3 10s. Mr Allan stated that tho expenditure covering a number of rears had exceeded tho revenue, and at tho present time the bank overdraft exceeded £3OO. Tho membership during this period had been practically stationary. Unfortunately there had been only a very slight variation in the number of new mornbo.rs elected and the number of resignations. Further, with tho increased cost of running tho club, there was no prospect of tho expenditure being met without an increase in tho revenue. Tho motion was seconded pro fonna by Mr Mirams, and considerable discussion followed. Tho view was freely expressed that an increase of subscription would deplete the membership. Tho motion was eventually earned by a fairly substantial majority, a number not voting. Tho delegates to the centre were given a free hand in regard to tho annual meetinp.
