After a special session lasting for four days tho Canterbury- Diocesan Synod tonight reached a decision regarding tho election of a bishop to succeed Archbishop Julius. It was resolved practically unanimously to write a certain clergyman to become Bishop of Christchurch. The name is not to bo divulged till he signifies his acceptance. A reply is not expected from him till next week.
