DISTINCT RATANA CHURCH.
SUGGESTED ESTABLISHMENT. (From Ocr Own Correspondent.) ‘WANGANUI, Jane 10. Ratana has so far prevented denominalionalism from intruding in his religious services, but ns there are representatives of so many denominations continually meeting" at Ratana, it has now been suggested that a distinct Ratana church with one appropriate service, to meet the needs of all, be established, thus doing away with so many religious meetings as is necessary on the occasion of a big gathering. The Seventh Day Adventists, it is stated, have been trying to woo Ratana, but it is hardly likely that their pilgrimage will be successful Ratana himself is so fond of Rugby that he is to lie seen at Wanganui contests very frequently. Boys and girls from his hapu figure largely in football and lawn tenuis each Saturday. So it is hardly likely that tho Seventh Day Adventists will succeed in capturing a Saturday for religious observance when so many playing fields are calling the young plea-sure-loving Maori away at the week-end.
