CONGREGATIONAL SUNDAY SCHOOLS’ UNION.
The annual meeting of the Otago Congregational Sunday Schools Onion was held on Tuesday evening at Moray Place Church. The representatives of the various Congregational schools in the district having enjoyed the hospitality of the ladies of Moray Place School, the chair was taken hy the president, Mr J. A 'Wilkinson. The roll call was responded to by delegates from Port. Chalmers, Itavensbourne, Core, Moray Place, and United Sunday schools. Thu treasurer's report showed a satisfactory credit balance. The following oiliee-bearers wore elected: —Mr J, Abernethy; vice-president, Miss Jack; secretary. Miss V. Hale; treasurer. Miss Clifford; delegate to Council of Sunday School Unions. .Messrs Abernethy and Moody; committee -Misses Millin, Uaing, Montgomery, Hale, and Anderson. The Revs. W. M. Grant and A. 11. Wallace were elected life members. A resolution of sympathy with Mr E E. ■Wilkinson, who had recently suffered bereavement, was carried. Congratulations were extended to the Gore School on the advent of a new min-, ister and the promise of fresh life and progress. In view of the distractions to day school work because of the recent epidemic, and by reason of the approaching exhibition, it was deemed inexpedient to hold the usual examination this year. In its stead it was decided that a speeial missionary pageant by all the schools be arranged for, to tie held during the week fixed for the visit to Dunedin of the annual deputation from the London .Missionary Society. Mr Joseph Abernethy, in a brief address. outlined the splendid work that was being accomplished by the Otago Council of .Sunday School Unions and its School of Religions Education. Votes of thanks was passed to the Moray Place hostesses, and the meeting was closed wdth devotional exercises.
