MR ALEXANDER HAYNES
DEATH IN LONDON STREET. SEQUEL TO ILLNESS DURING VOYAGE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 3. An inquest was held at Paddington on the bodv of Mr Alexander Haynes, retired draper, of Dunedin, who collapsed in the street at Marylebone, and died in hospital. , , . , . The widow said that they arrived in England on May 5. Most, of the passengers, including her husband, after leaving Port Said, were attacked by symptoms similar to those of dyscutry. Her husband, on landing, was very ill' On the following morning he left the hotel for a walk, and was found unconscious in Lhe street shortly afterwards. The doctor attributed death to acute delirium, accelerated by the illness on the voyage, and the injuries received through falling' in the street. A verdict was returned of accidental death. —Reuter. Mr Alex. Haynes was the second son of the late Mr Daniel Haynes, of the firm of Messrs Herbert, Haynes, and Co. lie was about 47 years of age. In his younger days he was a keen Association football player. He was also an enthusiastic bricketcr, and a member for many years of the Carisbrook Club. On Ins way to the Old Country he stayed in Australia to see the cricket tests.
