NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. (Peu United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 4. At a meeting of the New Zealand Footkali Association to-night the Secretary retracted that ho had written to the New Zealand Rugby Union staling: "The association has no desire to use the title ‘All Blacks,’ and considers that as you represent the original holders of such a title you should now have the role right to use it. -My council does, however, feel that the fern leaf, being the national emblem of New Zealand, should be worn by any person or persons representing New Zealand bodies in any field of sport. The uniform is. a black jersey with a silver fern leaf, white knickers, black stockings, and black cap with a silver fern leaf. Our colours, black or white, have been in use for 30 years, and we contend we arc entitled to use them for all lime." Tlie letter was approved. A cablegram was sent to Mr Lewis, manager of the English team in .Australia, saying that the council had asked Australia for its terms for a short tour, and asking him to use his best influence to bring it about. Mr Lewis will be, invited to visit New Zealand- as the 'guest of tho assoeialion for 12 days in order to have- a conference in regard to tho insurance of players and financial assistance in the same way as cricket and Rugby are assisted by tho Home authorities- also to discuss iho prospects of the English Football Association inviting a New Zealand team to visit England. Further entries had been received —Wellington 10, Canterbury three, Auckland nine, and South Auckland two—making a total of 29. The Kaitangata XI paid a holiday visit io Seacliif on Wednesday t-o play a friendly game with the hosiptid team in response to a similar visit paid by SeaelifF to the mining town last- Easter, and a fine open game, played in the best sporting spirit, and specially marked by neat footwork and free passing on both sides, resulted in a draw, each claiming four goals. Goals were scored for Kaitangata by Tripp (two), Campbell, and Bennie, and for Soaeliff by Hooper (two), Murray, and Anderson.
