DUNEDIN BOWLING CENTRE.

The monthly meeting of the Dunedin Bowling Centre was held last evening. Mr F O'. Campbell was in the chair and the following delegates were present; Messrs W. Jacobsen, W. Wright, D. M Faster, W. Easton, W. Connor, A. J. Sullivan, K. B. Todd, A. M. M'Konzie, J. Harraway, and W. Henaghan. A letter wm received from tho secretary of the . Dominion Bowling Association stating that it had been decided to take no action in regard to tho Dunedin Centre s wire with regard to bowl-testing. , Mr W. Jacobsen moved that the centre give notice of motion to tho Dominion Council that tho green teat for bowls be the o„o and only tost.—The motion was carried. The Secretary of the Central Otago Centre wrote to say that they were unable to send down a team this year.—Deceived. A letter was received from the secretary of the South Otago Centre suggesting March 21 for tho match with the Dunedin Centre.— Agreed to. _ . , , . Tho Secretary of the Otago Cricket Association wrote asking the centre to postpone its matches on Saturday next on account of the visit of tho Victorian cricketers.—Mr J. Harraway moved that tho matches be postponed on Saturday.—Mr W. M’Konzie second tho motion, which was lost on » show of hands. It was decided to play the interprovincial fixture with the Southland Centre on March. 14. . The matter of the four-rink championship was left in the hands of the Match Committee, with the recommendation that if three wore left in a draw should bo made and a hyo given. With regard to tho champion of champions contest, it was decided to play the lies off on March 6 and 7 on the Dunedin green. After discussion it was decided in connection with the E*aster tournament that lunch be provided on the greens on Friday and Saturday, the entry fee to be £2 10s per rink with lunch included. Tho starting time and the draw for the consolation rinks would be posted at the Sports Depot on Saturday night. It was resolved that the clubs be written to asking if their greens were available for Easter. Mr hastier moved that the centre advise the clubs that when they are renewing their mats they should be asked to provide mate of the regulation size and of a material that will enable players to keep their feet from slipping when delivering tho bowl.—The motion was seconded by Mr Jacobsen and carried unanimously. Mr Easton moved that all clubs not having mats of regulation size be asked to provide •mats for next season of a size not less than f’,G inches bv 15 inches.—The motion was seconded by Mr Harraway and carried.
