DECEMBER WEATHER.

METEOROLOGISTS REPORT. (Per United Press Association.) January 7. The Director of the Meteorological Bureau has issued the following weather statement for tho month of December:—Dull, mild, and humid conditions were the features of the December weather, and were associated with some heavy rainfalls, especially in the North Island and the north-eastern parts of the South Island. Tho returns so fax show the heaviest rainfalls in the Wairarapa, The only parts of the countrv so far showing that they had fewer than tie average December falls are Hokitika, Grpymouth, Queenstown, Clyde, and parts of Central Otago. South Canterbury reports more wet weather than usual. Summer electrical conditions were prevalent, and thunderstorms were reported about December 5, -7, and 22. Barometric changes were common, but fluctuations of pressure were more frequent than phenomenal, though the moans for the month were everywhere considerably below the average. The rainfall for the year just ended was 55.75 m, being the lightest foe years.
