EARLY SETTLERS’ ASSOCIATION.
MONTHLY COMMITTEE MEETING. The monthly committee meeting of the Otago Early Settlers’ Association was hold in the boardroom yesterday afternoon, Mr John Hope (president) occupying the chair. The following gifts wore received and votes of thanks passed to the donors; From R. Strong, Oamaru, photograph of Nenthorn (1889); J. S. Webb, Dunedin, number of old manuscripts—papers written by his late father—J. Sykes Webb, Dunedin ; Miss Isabella Pullar, Waitati, framed portraits of her late parents, Mr W. Pullar (“Pladda,” 1860), Mrs Pullar, nee Morris (“Strathfieldeayo,” 1858); also of her late grandfather, J. Morris (“Strathfieldcave,” 1858), and her grandmother, Mrs Alex. Pullar (“Pladda,” 1860), ail of Waitati. Miss Begg, View street, chart of Dunedin Harbour, Upper and Lower, by G. MJ Barr, September 10, 1884; also Dunedin in the eighties, and a picture of the late George Beil, J.P. (Evening Star, 1862). Mrs John Gibson, Duke street, framed portrait of her late parents, Dr William Purdio and Mrs Purdie, Drinedin, “Mooltan,” 1819 (Dr J. Purdie, Dunout as surgeon of the ship). Jos. Gwyn, Tawanui, Catlins, pit saws owned and used by his late father, and William, John, and David Bacon at Broad Bay when they first came to Otago, “Nourmahal,” 1858. W. L. D. Trotter, Hillgrove, and Alexander Trotter, Mornington, very old telescope brought to Otago by their late grandfather, William Dalrymple, “Rajah,” 1865, and from the honorary secretary of St. Matthew’s "Vestry, a copy of the Jubilee Record, 1874-1924. Nine descendants of early settlers were enrolled.

Elliott, Perth, Western Australia, late Dunedin, 79 (late ’sixties); Mrs Thomas Craig, East Taiori, 57 (“Resolute,” 1664) ; William Sibbald, England, late Dunedin (“Clutha,” 1854); Hon. Joseph Grimmoud, Ross, Westland, 81 (“City of Hobart,” 1861) ; Robert Fenwick, Auckland, late ot Dunedin. 76 (“Challenger,” 1856): Peter G. "Wright, Owaka, 85 (’sixties); John Sandilands. Balclutha. 80 (“Jura,” 1858); Mrs J. Leighton, Dundas street, 83 (“Pladda, 1860).
